Nestled in the Mecklenburg Lake District, Tonikum Canow is a former bungalow village that we are gradually transforming into a living place aligned with the values of brafe.space. Rather than building something new, we’re carefully bringing an existing place back to life—one bungalow at a time. Inspired by the idea of a tonic that restores energy and vitality, Tonikum is designed to support regeneration, creativity, meaningful work, and genuine community. Whether you’re looking for a few days of deep focus, a writing retreat, time with your team, or simply space to slow down, we hope you’ll find what you need here. Our Story
Our Beta Phase
We’re excited to open the first 11 lovingly and ecologically renovated bungalows, together with a small community house, exclusively to the brafe.space community.
This is an early pilot phase. Not everything is finished yet—and that’s intentional. By staying with us now, you’re helping shape Tonikum Canow through your presence, your ideas, and your feedback.

If you have any questions or special requests, we’re always happy to help. A Gift Economy for the Beta Phase During this early pilot phase, all stays at Tonikum Canow are offered free of charge to members of the brafe.space community. €80 Instead of paying for your stay, we invite you to make a recommended donation per bungalow per night to the Brafe Foundation. Your contribution supports the Foundation’s ongoing mission and the projects that emerge from its values. In the spirit of brafe.space, we know that everyone’s financial situation is different. If €80 per night isn’t accessible for you right now, you’re warmly welcome to contribute a smaller amount. And if you’re in a position to give more, your generosity helps strengthen the Foundation’s work and makes it possible for more people to participate in experiences like these.
